Speaker Bio

Jessica H. Meeder has significant experience with numerous forms of complex litigation, including class actions and multi district litigation, and has also managed and litigated large volumes of unconsolidated mass tort cases in state court.? Substantively her practice focuses on catastrophic personal injury, including sexual assault; products liability; constitutional torts; toxic torts; and medical malpractice.

Ms. Meeder plays a key role in building strong and effective cases on behalf of the individuals, corporations, and families that Murphy, Falcon & Murphy represents. ?She is particularly skilled at developing, briefing, and arguing the creative legal theories and approaches that are the hallmark of our firm, and she brings a high degree of depth, nuance, and dedication to every aspect of her work.? Ms. Meeder?s insight and legal knowledge are a vital contribution to our clients? cases?from inception through appeal?and help us to secure the best possible outcome for every client.

Prior to joining Murphy, Falcon & Murphy, Ms. Meeder maintained a national practice with a prominent Baltimore plaintiffs? firm. She also worked for several nationally-known defense firms, where she practiced environmental regulation and permitting, pharmaceutical defense, and general insurance defense. Her experience representing insurance companies and defending businesses across multiple practice areas has made her an especially effective advocate for her injured clients.

Ms. Meeder graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Washington, Seattle and received her J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law. ?While in law school, she was a Staff Editor and Associate Editor of the University of Maryland Law Journal of Race, Religion, Gender and Class, and also successfully briefed a case before the Maryland Court of Special Appeals. Ms. Meeder twice interned with the U.S. Department of Justice, first in its Environmental Torts Division and then in its Environmental Enforcement Section, and received a Certificate of Concentration in Environmental Law. Following law school, she clerked for the Honorable Robert M. Bell, then-Chief Judge of the Maryland Court of Appeals, Maryland?s highest court.

Ms. Meeder is licensed in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and numerous Federal courts. She is a member of the American Association for Justice, in which she holds several leadership positions, as well as the Maryland Association for Justice.
