Robb W. Patryk is a trial lawyer and is Co-Chair of Hughes Hubbard’s Class Action and Product Liability & Toxic Torts groups. He focuses on complex litigation related to tort and fraud claims involving the sale of consumer, industrial, and medical products and securities. He has over 25 years experience in the national and international defense of numerous mass torts involving prescription drugs, medical devices, asbestos, tobacco, dietary supplements, machinery, blood products, specialty chemicals, motor vehicles, and petroleum products.
He has successfully defended several consumer fraud class actions in some of the nation’s most difficult jurisdictions and has tried cases in the New York, Pennsylvania, Florida and Michigan Courts. He has also litigated securities, employment discrimination and other commercial claims on behalf of the world’s premier banks, accounting firms, and mutual funds, among others. In addition, Mr. Patryk is active in providing legal services to the music community, representing emerging and established composers and singer/songwriters in connection with contractual and other matters.
His recent matters include the defense of Merck & Co., Inc. in Vioxx and Vytorin litigation, the representation of a prominent French bank in connection with fraud and other claims against monoline insurers, and multiple jury trials for Lorillard Tobacco Company.
