Marissa Bessis is a litigation paralegal with Motley Rice LLC, and has over 16 years of experience in the legal field. She works directly for the practice group leader of the medical team, focusing on mass torts and product liability cases, and assists in all areas of case management, including pre-trial discovery, liability discovery, and trial preparation. Marissa has been involved in numerous mass tort cases, including In Re Digitek Products Liability Litigation; In Re: Avandia Marketing, Sales Practices and Products Liability Litigation; In Re: Paxil Pregnancy Cases; and Essure Products Liability Litigation.
Marissa was heavily involved in the In Re: Pelvic Mesh MDLs and state court consolidations, where she provided litigation and administrative services for co-lead counsel and the Plaintiff’s Steering Committee, performed document review, assisted with liability documents and corporate depositions, and provided trial support in multiple pelvic mesh bellwether trials. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the College of Charleston, and recently received her TESOL certification to teach English as a second language.
