Speaker Bio

Sara Schramm is a skilled Athens personal injury attorney and valuable member of the Blasingame, Burch, Garrard & Ashley, P.C. team. Her legal practice encompasses a broad range of personal injury matters, including products liability and mass tort litigation. Says Sara, “I love my work in this firm because we value the individuality of each case and we don’t cut corners.” At the firm, Sara spends much of her time working directly with clients in a one-on-one setting. She uses her time with clients to gain a better understanding of their unique circumstances which, in turn, allows her to develop a personalized plan of action for each individual. With more than two decades of legal experience, including time spent on both the defense and plaintiffs’ side of personal injury cases, Sara is committed to working towards maximum recovery on behalf of each and every one of her clients.

Sara was raised in rural Iowa Falls, Iowa. Growing up, she learned the value of hard work from her family of farmers and teachers. Her small-town upbringing taught her about both the rewards and responsibilities of working hard to achieve her goals.

“Kids in my family worked,” says Sara, “and so I had all kinds of jobs, including roguing corn, sometimes on horseback, to earn my spending money.”

Sara brought her spirit of adventure and hard work to her education. She moved to Georgia where she attended college in Athens, taking one summer to study abroad in Mexico. Sara worked her way through law school, which she attended at night, clerking at an NYC firm full-time.

After some time, during which she spent a year abroad in Berlin, Germany, Sara returned to Athens to build her legal career and her life with her husband of more than 20 years. Says Sara, “I have learned to enjoy being outside of my comfort zone and this makes me open to challenges and helps me connect with people from different backgrounds.”

In her free time, Sara enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons, and their large blue-tick hound dog. She also enjoys beekeeping and riding horses with a local foxhunting club, as well as working to preserve the rural way of life.
