Levin Papantonio Rafferty

Speaker Bio

Kathryn Avila is an associate attorney at Levin Papantonio Rafferty and focuses her practice on mass torts. She graduated cum laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Law. Prior to law school, Ms. Avila spent a year at Levin Papantonio Rafferty vetting cases for the Benicar litigation. In 2018, she received her Juris Doctorate from Barry University School of Law, graduating cum laude.

During law school, Ms. Avila worked in the Environmental and Earth Law clinic, doing legal research and writing about both state and federal anti-SLAPP laws across the country, preventing the reversion of public to private lands, and encouraging local plastic bag bans. She was a fellow for the Center for Earth Jurisprudence where she participated in an amicus curiae brief to the Permanent Peoples' Tribunal Session on Human Rights on Fracking and Climate Change. Upon graduation, she received an Honors Certificate in Environmental and Earth Law.

Ms. Avila is licensed to practice in all state courts in Florida and Oregon.
