Speaker Bio

Dustin B. Herman is a partner with Spangenberg Shibley & Liber and practices out of the firm’s office in Tampa, Florida—handling cases in Florida, Ohio, and around the country. His practice focuses on medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, truck crashes, traumatic brain injuries, product liability, and pharmaceutical and medical device litigation.

In the last 5 years, Dustin has obtained verdicts in medical malpractice and nursing home cases of $5 million (January 2026), $17.675 million (July 2025), $6 million (April 2024), $6 million (February 2023), and $6.5 million (April 2022). In 2013, Dustin was named as one of south Florida’s “Most Effective Lawyers” by the Daily Business Review for his role in obtaining a $28.5 million verdict in a traumatic brain injury case.

Dustin served as President of the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys in 2025-2026 and he is a Past-President of the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40. Dustin has been named “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers for Cleveland four years in a row (2024, 2025, 2026, 2027) and lectures across the country on trial advocacy, Daubert issues, and discovery of Electronically Stored Information (ESI).

After spending a decade in Cleveland, Ohio, Dustin and his wife, Dana, moved back to Tampa, Florida in 2025 with their son, Dylan, and daughter, Ava.
