Speaker Bio

Growing up Syreeta gave back to her community and always wanted to be a part of changing the legal system to correct corporate malfeasance. At the young age of eighteen, Syreeta became the Manager of a Learning Daycare Center and Soul Food Sensations Restaurant until the age of thirty-one. Through these positions, Syreeta discovered she had a love to help and develop growth in her community, leading her to go to Western Michigan University Cooley Law School.

Syreeta's number one priority and passion as an attorney is fighting for her client's rights who have been harmed by the negligence of large corporations. Currently, Syreeta devotes a significant portion of her practice to investigating and litigating cases involving injuries attributable to medical negligence, product liability, and defective drugs and medicine. Syreeta is on the Plaintiff's Leadership Committee for IN RE: PHILIPS RECALLED CPAP, BI-LEVEL PAP, AND MECHANICAL VENTILATOR PRODUCTS LITIGATION, MDL No. 3014.

Syreeta has extensive experience with complex multi-district litigation (“œMDL”) matters. Syreeta has performed work on the following MDLs:  In Re: National Prescription Opiate Litigation, MDL No. 2804, IN RE: Valsartan, MDL No. 2875 and IN RE: Davol, Inc./C.R. Bard, Inc., Polypropylene Hernia Mesh Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2846.

Syreeta is also working with a consortium of lawyers across the country to bring a new MDL against Enfamil Manufacturer Mead Johnson and Similac Manufacturer Abbott Laboratories because they knew or should have known their baby formula products could cause necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) in premature infants. Manufacturers failed to warn parents and medical providers of this risk.
