Speaker Bio

Asim Badaruzzaman leads the Firm’s mass tort litigation practice and represents clients injured by dangerous pharmaceutical drugs, defective medical devices and consumer products, and environmental contamination. Asim has extensive experience in high-stakes, complex litigation matters and has helped clients recover over $100 million from major pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers.

In keeping with the Firm’s values, Asim believes in providing client-focused representation with excellence, creativity, collaboration, and conscientiousness. He understands that when clients hire Sbaiti & Company after being injured by the wrongdoing of big, powerful corporations, clients count on him and the talented team at the Firm to zealously advocate on their behalf and obtain the best results possible. Asim takes this tremendous responsibility seriously and strives to provide the Firm’s clients with a top-notch experience centered on diligence, communication, compassion, and respect.

Before joining Sbaiti & Company, Asim practiced mass tort litigation at a prestigious national plaintiffs’ firm for over twelve years and was involved in some of the highest-profile product liability cases. In addition to litigating these cases in federal and state courts across the country, he successfully negotiated settlements in many complex matters. One of Asim’s particular interests is designing and administering settlement programs that are fair and equitable and provide an efficient mechanism for plaintiffs to obtain a recovery in global and smaller aggregate settlements.

Asim received his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law. He developed an interest in representing victims of harm early in his legal career. While at Seton Hall, he participated in the school’s Civil Litigation Clinic as part of a team representing inmates at one of New Jersey’s largest county jails in a federal lawsuit alleging deplorable and inhumane living conditions. Asim also interned at the school’s Center for Social Justice, where he helped represent victims of human trafficking and predatory lending.
