Speaker Bio

David Matthews was selected by his peers as one of the Best Lawyers in America for 2017. His firm has focused on pharmaceutical drug and medical device law for more than 15 years. His firm aggressively represents victims of dangerous drugs and medical devices, a well as personal injury cases that include Truck and Auto Accidents and natural gas fracking lawsuits.

Board Certified in 1994 by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Personal Injury Trial Law, Mr. Matthews has taken more than 120 cases to jury verdicts. In Sept. 2014 he won a jury verdict for a Texas woman – in a case later settled – in a Dallas courtroom in a transvaginal mesh sling case. In March 2014 in Philadelphia, he won a jury verdict for a Wisconsin family in a Topamax birth defects case later settled for a confidential sum. In 2014 he also helped a Texas family win a jury verdict – on appeal, so no recoveries have been made by plaintiffs despite the verdict – in what his firm believes to be the first fracking verdict in the country won by plaintiffs.

Mr. Matthews has received the premier rating in 2015 from Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™. Martindale.com proclaims on its web site: “The Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™ are an objective indicator of a lawyer’s high ethical standards and professional ability, generated from evaluations of lawyers by other members of the bar and the judiciary in the United States and Canada. . . .”
