Edwin J. Kilpela, Jr., a partner at Lynch Carpenter, is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Before dedicating his practice and career to working on behalf of individuals, Ed litigated and tried complex class-action and mass tort matters at both Williams & Connolly LLP and then, later, at Wheeler Trigg O'Donnell LLP, two of the finest complex litigation firms in the country.
Ed is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, where he received an undergraduate degree in philosophy as well as the New School for Social Research in New York City, where he received a Master's Degree in philosophy. Ed graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School where he won the Campbell Moot Court competition, receiving awards as the best oral advocate and for having authored the best brief.
Ed lives in Mt. Lebanon, a suburb of Pittsburgh, with his wife Gina and his two sons, Devin and Graham. He has been selected multiple times by his peers, both as a Rising Star and as a SuperLawyer, by SuperLawyers magazine, a distinction given to no more than 2.5% of his peers. When Ed is not practicing law, he enjoys skiing and golfing.
