Speaker Bio

Floyd has enjoyed a diverse securities and legal career as a marketing director, compliance officer, and private attorney. He entered the securities industry in 1985 with Baraban Securities and the legal profession as a California licensed attorney in 2005. He has trained registered representatives on new financial products as a marketing director, led corporate internal investigations and audits for market conduct compliance in multiple jurisdictions, and currently represents clients in state and federal courts.

Floyd has a unique problem solving approach drawn from the uniqueness of his educational experience. He completed his undergraduate degree at The Union Institute and University through a scholarship-based learning capstone project conducting research on economic development in urban inner-city communities. He earned his law degree in a similar non-traditional fashion and served on The State Bar of California Committee of Bar Examiners for a four-year term, retiring in 2011. He earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations from The American College in Bryn Mawr PA.

Floyd believes in public service and making positive contributions to society receiving from the San Francisco Bar Association in 2006 their “œOutstanding Volunteer in Public Service Award” from The Volunteer Legal Services Program. He served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Hawaii Life and Disability Insurance Guaranty Association and the Fair Housing Center of Washington. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Lawyers Helping Hungry Children. 

Floyd provides strategic planning and financial advisory services to individuals, governments and non-governmental organizations, small public companies, and growing private enterprises in need of capital and advisory services. He is admitted to practice law in Washington and California, the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington, and the US Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
