Kim D. Stephens, a member with Tousley Brain Stephens PLLC, concentrates his practice on commercial, real property and class action litigation. He has a broad range of experience litigating data breach, antitrust, condemnation, environmental, construction, products liability, and securities matters, and has been appointed special attorney general for Washington State and lead counsel to manage both state and federal, multi-district class actions. He is frequently retained by other lawyers to serve as lead trial or appellate counsel.
Mr. Stephens practiced with the criminal defense firm of Allen & Hansen, and served as a judicial extern clerk to The Honorable Eugene A. Wright, Senior Judge, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, before joining Tousley Brain Stephens in 1981. He managed the firm from 1994-97, reassuming this position from 2001-08.

He is repeatedly recognized as a “Super Lawyer” in Washington Law & Politics magazine, designated one of the Best Lawyers in Washington by Seattle magazine and Puget Sound Business Journal, and recognized by The Best Lawyers in America, which named him the 2013 and 2019 Real Estate Litigation Lawyer of the Year for the greater Seattle Tacoma metropolitan area. Mr. Stephens holds a B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Washington and earned his J.D. with honors from the University of Washington School of Law.
