Natalia M. Salas is a Partner at The Ferraro Law Firm, and focuses her practice on multi-district litigation (MDL), complex business disputes, mass torts, and class actions. Ms. Salas was the dedicated MDL clerk to The Honorable James Lawrence King in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, overseeing In re Checking Account Overdraft Litigation through class certification, resulting in over $1 billion in settlements. Since joining Ferraro Law in 2020, Ms. Salas has been appointed as Lead Counsel for Plaintiffs with claims in the MDL against Robinhood relating to its January 2021 trading restrictions and to the Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee in the Insulin Pricing Litigation MDL on behalf of self-funded payers who overpaid for artificially inflated insulin as a result of alleged wrongdoing by pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), CVS Caremark, Express Scripts, and OptumRx, and drug manufacturers, Eli Lilly, Novo Nordisk, and Sanofi. Ms. Salas also serves U.S. public water systems with claims for per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) contamination within the Aqueous Film-Forming Foams (AFFF) Products Liability MDL, which recently settled against 3M and Tyco Fire Products for a groundbreaking $12.5 billion and $750 million, respectively. Ms. Salas has been recognized as a “Super Lawyer” and a “Top 40 Under 40” lawyer for her client advocacy, community service, professionalism, and ethics.
Prior to joining Ferraro Law, Ms. Salas was Assistant General Counsel to the University of Miami. In that capacity, Ms. Salas represented the University and its health system in high-stakes litigation, healthcare regulatory compliance, data privacy, technology transfer, sponsored research, athletics, and intellectual property. Ms. Salas was recognized for her leadership by UM’s Talent and Organizational Development Program. Ms. Salas previously spent six years as Senior Counsel at one of the largest multi-national firms (Am Law 50), and four years at an elite litigation boutique founded by the former United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. During that time, Ms. Salas prosecuted and defended cases through trial, argued dispositive motions, obtained judgments totaling over $50 million, and led cross-border disputes and investigations. Ms. Salas also represented victims of human trafficking and was active as a volunteer for Big Brothers & Big Sisters of America and member of the Federal Bar and Cuban Bar Associations.
Ms. Salas earned her law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law. During law school, Ms. Salas was a Dean’s Merit Scholarship recipient, served on the University of Miami Law Review, and the Moot Court Board, and won several book awards, including in Litigation Skills and Legal Research & Writing. Ms. Salas received her undergraduate degree from Duke University, magna cum laude, in Public Policy and Spanish, and a Policy Journalism and Media Certificate after an internship at NBCUniversal in New York City.
Ms. Salas is admitted to practice in Florida and Illinois.
Ms. Salas is fluent in spoken and written Spanish and conversational in Italian.
