Peter J. McNulty was born in Boston, Massachusetts; admitted to bar, 1979, California and U.S. District Court, Central District of California; 1983, U.S. District Court, Northern and Southern Districts of California; 1984, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of California; U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts and U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit; 1988, U.S. Court of Appeals, First Circuit and U.S. Supreme Court; 1999, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York; 2000, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Georgia; 2012, U.S. District Court, District of Nevada, District of Hawaii and Southern District of Virginia; 2013, U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit; 2016. After working for the Public Defender’s office in Boston, Massachusetts, Mr. McNulty was associated with the firm of Lawler, Felix and Hall (now Atter Hadden) in Los Angeles. In coordination with Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro (now Pillsbury Winthrop), he defended clients such as Chevron, Pacific Telephone & Telegraph, Amtrak and Miles Laboratories in complicated personal injury and commercial litigation matters both in California and nationally.

Since 1983, Mr. McNulty has practiced with his own firm. He has offices in Los Angeles and Hong Kong. His firm specializes in the preparation and trial of catastrophic personal injury actions and complicated commercial actions with a special emphasis in Class Actions. His firm has also represented numerous Asian corporations (China Tire, Asia Pulp and Paper, Sinar Mas Group, Ltd. and eSun Holdings, Ltd.) and high net worth individuals in complex business litigation in the United States, London and Hong Kong. His firm has also represented Nevada Energy Company in energy related litigation against El Paso, Dynergy and Sempra. His individual verdicts and settlements, not including class actions, total in excess of $450 Million Dollars. He has tried over 125 cases to verdict and has been involved in multiple nationwide class actions involving medical devices and pharmaceutical products such as Accutane, Sulzer Hips, Intra-Ocular Lenses and AMO. He is currently co-lead counsel in class action cases involving UPS (MDL 2153).

Mr. McNulty has an AV Preeminent Rating ® with Martindale Hubbell, is listed in Martindale Hubbell’s Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers and has been selected as a top rated lawyer in Medical Malpractice Law. Mr. McNulty has been an invited lecturer for courses sponsored by the American Bar Association, American Association for Justice and local Bar Associations. Mr. McNulty has also been selected as a Super Lawyer from 2010 through the present. He is also a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, whose membership is limited to attorneys who have recovered Multi-Million dollar verdicts for their clients.
