Speaker Bio

Russ began working with medical and scientific experts to help people injured by dangerous drugs and defective medical devices. His work has benefited injury victims in a variety of high-profile multidistrict litigation (MDL) cases.

Russ is licensed to practice law in Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, New York, and Texas. He is a member of the American Association for Justice, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, and Texas Trial Lawyers Association. Russ also serves on the board of directors of Making the Grade, an organization that helps young people in Ethiopia obtain excellent educations.

In March 2015, Russ Abney was appointed to the Plaintiffs' Steering Committee for the Xarelto® MDL in Louisiana. Nearly two dozen Xarelto® lawsuits were consolidated in December 2014, and Russ was selected to advocate on behalf of multiple Xarelto® injury victims from across the country.

Russ received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and went on to graduate cum Laude with a Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law.
