Scott D. Camassar graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of Connecticut in 1992, with a B.A. in Sociology. He went on to earn his J.D. in 1995 from Western New England College School of Law where he was an editor of the Western New England Law Review. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut state and federal courts, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Attorney Camassar joined the Law Firm of Stephen M. Reck, LLC in 2008. Before this, he spent 5 years with Gordon, Muir & Foley, LLP in Hartford, preceded by almost 8 years at the Reardon Law Firm, P.C. in New London. Across these positions, he represented plaintiffs and defendants in a full spectrum of civil and personal injury cases.
He is a member of the American Association for Justice, the Connecticut Bar Association, the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, and the New London County Bar Association. He has also served on the CBA's Resolution of Legal Fee Disputes Committee. Attorney Camassar has presented seminars to attorneys and claim professionals on topics such as automobile injury cases and civil trial skills.
He has achieved a BV rating by Martindale-Hubbell and has been peer-selected to serve as an arbitrator of other attorney's cases. Attorney Camassar has tried numerous cases on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants, securing compensation for the injured and protecting the interest of clients who have been sued. He continues to try cases of various types and complexity. His most notable jury verdict was when he won $2,523,500.00 for a woman who suffered traumatic brain injury after she was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer.
