Beau Darley joined Beasley Allen Law Firm in August 2011 in the Mass Torts Section, where he is working on cases involving transvaginal mesh, a type of surgical mesh used for the repair of common pelvic floor disorders, as well as cases involving the chemotherapy drug Taxotere, which has been linked to claims that the drug causes permanent hair loss.
Beau also is working on litigation involving vape device manufacturer JUUL, which involves claims from people who are suffering addiction and other physical injury as a result of vaping. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Ann Jones has appointed a team of 20 attorneys to lead litigation consolidated in California state court against JUUL on behalf of Plaintiffs. Beau was appointed to serve on the Plaintiff Steering Committee (PSC) for this litigation.
Background
Prior to beginning law school, Beau was a management associate at Superior Bank's corporate headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama, and an intern at the United States Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C.
Professional Associations
He is a member of the Alabama State Bar, where he serves on the Governmental Relations Liaison Committee; Alabama State Bar's Young Lawyers Section, where he serves on the Executive Committee; and the Montgomery County Bar Association.
Beau also serves on the Board of Directors for the Montgomery County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section and as First Chair of the Emerging Leaders Section for the Alabama Association for Justice.
Education
He earned his B.S. degree in agricultural business and economics from Auburn University in 2007. While at Auburn, he was a student ambassador for Auburn University's College of Agriculture and a member of Alpha Zeta Honorary Agricultural Fraternity. As an ambassador, he represented the college at various alumni events and handled alumni communications. Additionally, he was a member of Sigma Chi social fraternity and served as Alumni Relations Chairman.
Beau attended Samford University's Cumberland School of Law, earning his J.D. in 2011. He was a member of the Cumberland National Trial Team, and was a member of the team that won the AAJ Regional Trial Competition in Dallas, Texas, in February 2010. He also was a member of the Cumberland Trial Advocacy Board, a quarterfinalist in the Parham Williams Freshman Trial Competition, and a quarterfinalist in the James O. Haley Summer Trial Competition.
During law school, Beau was a law clerk for a plaintiff's firm in Birmingham, Alabama, during his second summer and entire third year of law school. Additionally, he served as a law clerk for Legal Services of Alabama and was a law clerk for Judge J. Scott Vowell, presiding judge of Alabama's 10th Judicial Circuit.
Community Involvement
Beau is a member of the Alabama Civil Justice Foundation's Board of Directors. He is also a former member of the Jimmy Hitchcock Memorial Award Committee, which awards high school student athletes who excel in athletics and exhibit Christian leadership.
